So you’ve learned the basic stitches (SC, HDC, DC) and you’re wondering, “What do I do now?” In this “Next steps” series of classes, you will take your skills to the next level. You will become comfortable with counting stitches and rows, increasing, decreasing, and you will become familiar with reading a pattern and a chart. You will use your new skills to create a corner to corner dish cloth and you will make the same granny square from written and charted directions. The granny squares will be turned into fingerless mitts, and you will learn to create join as you go ribbing

For the first class, you will need a 5 mm (US size H) crochet hook and some worsted weight practice yarn, (preferably a light color because it’s easier to see, and any fiber content.) You will see how finished pieces look, which should help you in choosing yarn for your project.
