Description: Always wanted to learn to knit Continental style? Then this is the workshop for you. The English style – affectionately known as “throwing” – is where the knitter wraps the working yarn around the right hand needle with the right hand. While in the Continental style – affectionately known as “picking” – the knitter holds the yarn out in front of the left needle with the left hand and “scoops” or “picks” the working yarn to form the stitch. Each style gives a slightly different look to the stitch. The Continental style is often considered to be faster and easier on the hands. Also, the Continental style is typically easier for left handed knitters. For this class, you will need 100 yards of smooth worsted weight yarn and size 7 – 8 needles.
