Description: The Glide Shawl & Assigned Pooling Workshop is led by Jake Kenyon of Kenyarn, LLC and hosted by Skein Yarn Shop in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. This course is ideal for intermediate knitters who have mastered the basics of flat knitting and are comfortable with simple increases and wrap and turn techniques. This 2.5 hour course will provide a brief introduction to Assigned Pooling, it's origins, and different uses of these intentionally dyed skeins as a trend in the fiber community. During the course, participants will have a chance to cast on the beautiful Glide shawl from Barker Wool Co., master the unique star stitch used in this pattern, and ask any questions that may arise. Our goal is to have you feeling successful and confident as you take your project home to continue working on it! Participants in the course are expected to provide their own materials that can be purchased from Skein Yarn Shop. This course is designed only for students 16+ years old.

The pattern is included in the price of the class. Once you have registered for the class, please send an email to lori@skeinyarnshop.com with your name, email address and Ravelry ID and the pattern will be deposited into your Ravelry account. If you do not have a Ravelry account, you will be provided with a printed copy of the pattern.

Glide is a bias triangle shawl that incorporates the look of embroidered flowers on a sea of simple knit stitches by using the innovative technique of Assigned Pooling.

Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. Stockinette Stitch is assigned to the main color to create a smooth backdrop for the floret cluster stitch assigned to the accent color.

It is knit flat in just two skeins of variegated yarn engineered to work with Assigned Pooling.
